“Moments in Algoma” is theatre based on real local history. In May and September of 1918 founding members of the Group of Seven made their first trips to Algoma where they found the inspiration for a new style in Canadian art. This one man show transports audiences into those first defining moments these influencial artists experienced in the Northern Ontario bush almost 100 years ago. Written by local playwright W. A. Hamilton, and directed by National Theatre School grad, Sandra Forsell, “Moments”, incorporates the actual letters and reflections of founding members, Lawren Harris and J.E. H. MacDonald. It is performed by Peter Jones.
