About Fringe North

Fringe North is an annual not for profit festival premiering August 10-20, 2017 in Sault Ste. Marie. Presenting live theatre in an informal, accessible and inexpensive environment, the Fringe strives to break down traditional boundaries to participation in the arts- for artists and audiences alike. Fringe North is a member of the Canadian Association of Fringe Festivals (CAFF) and is bound by the following principles:

* 100% of the box office goes to performers
* Artists are selected on a non-juried basis, either first come-first served or lottery
* Artistic freedom is unrestrained
* Fringes are accessible to artists and audiences alike. Ticket prices for Fringe North are set at $12. Performers may charge less, but not more.

Eligible candidate:

(a) is between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;
(b) was registered as a full-time student during the preceding academic year;
(c) intends to return to school on a full-time basis during the next academic year;
(d) is a student in a secondary, post-secondary, CEGEP (Quebec only), vocational or technical program;
(e) is a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and
Refugee Protection Act* and;
(f) is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations
